📍 Locate the Metpow Sticker
Upon arrival at your allocated pitch or berth, you will notice a green Metpow sticker displayed on the electrical hookup unit. This sticker includes a QR code that links directly to the Metpow platform.

🪪 Create Your Account
Open the app and follow the steps to create your Metpow account. This will allow you to manage your electricity usage throughout your stay.
📷 Scan the QR Code
Use the Metpow app to scan the QR code found on your electrical socket. This links your account to the specific socket at your pitch or berth.
⚙️ Select Your Socket
In the app, select the socket you have plugged into (for example, Socket 1, 2, 3 or 4). Some units have multiple sockets while others may only have one.
☑️ Review and Accept Socket Information
Confirm the socket details, including:
The price per kWh
The site’s fair use policy (including any daily or stay-based electricity allowance)
The payment method selected by the site (see Steps below)
📅 Set Your Stay Duration
Choose your planned departure date. Please note: most sites fix the final day’s electricity cut-off time (e.g. 11:00am).
💳 Add Your Payment Method
Add a bank card to your account to activate electricity supply. Payment may be handled in one of two ways, depending on the site:
Option A: Wallet Top-Up
If the site uses the wallet feature, you will be asked to top up your Metpow Wallet. The app will suggest a top-up amount based on your stay length and local electricity rates.
You can add more funds at any time via the app
You will receive low-balance notifications via email
Any remaining balance can be refunded at the end of your stay
Option B: Pre-Authorisation (Pay As You Go)
If the site uses pre-authorisation, a small amount of funds will be ringfenced from your card to cover electricity usage during your stay.
This typically ranges from 30 pence to £2 per 24 hours
Example: For a 5-day stay, up to £10 may be held
Any unused balance will be automatically released at the end of your stay
✅ Power On and Relax
Once activated, your electricity will start flowing.
You’ll receive a confirmation email
You can top up, extend or monitor usage live in the app
If you're having trouble, speak to the site team — they can help right away
🕹️ Monitor and Manage Usage
Use the Metpow app home screen to monitor your electricity usage in real-time. You can pause and resume supply at any time during your stay.
🚙 Leaving Early?
If you plan to leave before your scheduled departure date, please remember to end your stay via the Metpow app. This will ensure the pitch or berth becomes available for the next visitor.
💡 Tips
Most sessions begin within 1–2 minutes after setup
If you don’t see power straight away, wait up to 5 minutes (especially during busy periods)
Always double check your plug and your equipment first

If something’s not working or you’re unsure what to do next, just head to reception or the site office. The team on-site has full access to the Metpow system and can usually get things sorted quickly and easily. They're always happy to help!
